The Krystal Clear sand filter from Intex has a powerful motor to give strong flow rates. The 14" sand filter is best suited to the Intex Easy Set, Metal Frame and Ultra Frame swimming pools of up to 12,800 gallons (30,000 litres). The Intex sand filter is designed to be an upgrade from the cartridge filter systems on intex swimming pools. Sand filters are simple to use and perform far better than standard cartridge filters. The pump supplied circulates the water faster than usual making filtration more effective and thus helping to keep your pool water sparkling clean. The Intex 1,600 gph combo sand filter and pump, has an Intex 14 inch Sand Filter and a powerful 0.5 hp motor that pumps 1,600 gallons of water per hour. Sand filters have long been recognized by pool owners as one of the most desirable methods to keep pool water clear and sparkling. Not only does the all-natural, inexpensive sand do an excellent job of filtering particles, it needs replacing infrequently, after 5 or more years. Intex sand filters are one of the easiest and lowest cost pool filtration options on the market. The 1600 gph Sand Filter Pump was designed to be used with popular above ground pools such as Intex, Sand N Sun, Summer Escapes, General Foam, Aqua Leisure, Bestway and more. The Intex Sand Filter pump is controlled automatically with a 24-hour timer that makes daily operations carefree. All hoses and clamps needed to install the Intex 1/2 hp Sand Filter pump to your pool are included. Sand is not included. Installation is easy, just add sand, hook-up the hoses, plug it in and go. The Intex 1600 gph Sand Filter pump is a perfect replacement pump for pools with 1500 or 1000 gph filter pumps where an upgrade to a larger filter pump would improve the filtration and water quality of your pool. The 6 way valve on the Intex sand filter gives options to backwash, rinse, recirculate, drain, filter and close the system. FILTER: normal operating mode RINSE: used to rinse the tank after back-washing RECIRCULATE: for use if you wish to circulate the water without filtering BACKWASH: This setting reverses the flow in the filter and sends water out of the waste line. Make sure you open the valves and connect your waste hose CLOSED: This isolates the filter pump from the pool. Do not operate the pump with the valve in the closed position. WASTE/DRAIN: This setting sends the water out of the waste hose instead of returning it to the pool.
